Police have confirmed a person was killed in a serious crash near Levin this morning.
Emergency services were called to the crash between a truck and van on Oxford St, State Highway 1, just before 7.20am.
Police said one person died at the scene while a second person was transport to hospital with moderate injuries.
SH1 was closed while investigations were carried out but has since reopened.
鈥淭he Serious Crash Unit attended and enquiries to determine the circumstances of the crash are ongoing鈥, police said in a statement.
