Taranaki Police have released the name of the woman who died in a four-car crash at Okaiawa yesterday.
She was 60-year-old Christine Szekely from the Waikato.
The female driver of the car Ms Szekely was a passenger in, is in a stable but serious condition at Waikato Hospital.
Four other people were injured in the crash.
The incident is continuing to be investigated and the death's been referred to the Coroner.
